1750Te Pipe Storage Reel

AmClyde Norson Engineering have recently completed the design and build of a 1750Te capacity Pipe Storage Reel for Helix Energy Solutions. The Reel will be installed on the Pipelay Vessel Midnight Express to supplement the existing 1200Te Reel Storage Capacity.

The Reel is fitted with six Electrical Drive Motors, with the Drive Cubicles installed below deck.

The Reel can provide a tension capacity of up to 80Te and lay pipe at speed up to 1200 metres per hour.
