AmClyde Norson has its roots in Norson Power, which was formed in 1974.
After a series of purchases, Norson Engineering limited has been part of AmClyde, Hydralift and is now a division of National Oilwell Varco.
After the purchase by AmClyde our name was changed to AmClyde Norson Engineering and that is our trading name today.
We have a strong history of Pipelay Equipment including the conceptual design of Tensioners, Ramps, Clamps, Aligners, Straighteners, Reels and Carousels.
In addition to the Pipe Handling Equipment, we have been heavily involved in the design and installation of Up Ending Control Systems.
We won over £15M worth of business from BP for Jacket Launch and Template Levelling Equipment. This included Onshore and Offshore Installation, Commissioning and Operations.
In March 2005 we won a £2.9M upgrade on the pipelay vessel Skandi Navica that involved stiffening to the Ramp Structure, Tensioner and Clamp as well as a new A&R System and Fleeting System.
During this upgrade we were asked to manage the installation and testing of a new Piggyback System, Buoy Handling System, PLET Handling System and Stinger.
The upgrade was completed within time and budget during the months September through to November 2005
